We recently assisted our new client Alba Gas with fitting a vertical flue. Our rope access technicians worked under the instruction of the Alba gas engineer to ensure that the flue was installed correctly in line with strict regulations. This is a method employed in situations where traditional access methods, such as scaffolding or cranes, are impractical or cost-prohibitive. Rope access technicians, equipped with specialised harnesses and safety equipment, descend from the top of a structure using ropes to access and replace flues. Flues are essential components of chimneys or exhaust systems that help expel gases or smoke safely. By utilising rope access techniques, technicians can reach high elevations quickly and efficiently, minimising disruption and reducing the need for extensive equipment setup. This approach requires skilled professionals trained in rope access techniques and ensures a safe and effective replacement of flues in challenging or elevated locations.
